For online orders of card singles, sealed boxes, and other collectible items, we also collect transaction behavioural data to monitor for automated scalping software, checkout bots, and fraudulent payment activities.

Cookies are small files stored on your device that help us remember your preferences and provide a more personalized browsing experience. Organized Play and Tournament Data: When you register for in-store tournaments and events, we collect your name, contact details, date of birth, and official player identification numbers associated with official gaming networks, such as the Wizards Play Network or Pokémon Trainer Club.

Secondhand Dealer and Trade In Compliance Data: When you sell or trade individual cards and collectible products to us, we are required by provincial and municipal regulations to verify your identity. We collect government-issued photo identification, your full name, physical address, and your signature during these transactions.

Card Grading Submission Data: When you utilize our third-party grading submission services, we collect your name, contact information, and specific details regarding the collectible items you wish to submit.

2. How We Use Your Information
Order and Pre-Order Processing: We use your personal information to process and fulfill your online and in-store orders, including tracking individual card singles and sealed product allocations. This includes verifying payment details, managing pre-order queues for upcoming trading card releases, preparing shipments, and sending automated order confirmations and tracking updates.

Fraud Prevention and Security: We analyze usage data, device information, and billing details to detect and prevent credit card fraud, malicious chargebacks, and automated bot purchases that unfairly disrupt product availability for our community.

Customer Service: We may use your contact details to respond to your inquiries, provide support, and address any issues related to your orders, event registrations, or interactions with us.

Tournament Administration: We use your organized play data to manage tournament brackets, assign pairings, track event standings, and report official match results to the respective game publishing companies and sanctioning bodies.

Legal and Regulatory Compliance: We use the identification collected during trade transactions strictly to comply with Ontario secondhand dealer laws, local pawnbroker bylaws, and anti-theft regulations. This information is kept confidential and accessed only for compliance audits or verified law-enforcement inquiries.

Grading Service Facilitation: We use your submission data to prepare manifests and manage the custody chain of your collectibles as we send them to external grading authorities.

Marketing and Promotions: With your consent, we may use your contact details and purchase history to send you promotional emails about our products, upcoming set pre-orders, tournament schedules, or special store offers. This marketing communication may be managed and distributed using Shopify email delivery tools. You can opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe link provided in our emails or by contacting us directly. 

Website Improvement: We analyze usage data to enhance our website's functionality and user experience. This helps us understand which features are popular, identify potential issues, and make improvements to better serve our customers.

3. How We Share Your Information
Service Providers: We may share your personal information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website, processing payments, shipping products, and providing customer support. These providers are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality of your information and use it only for the purposes for which it was provided.

Game Publishers and Sanctioning Bodies: To log official tournament results and award player points, we share tournament performance data and player identification numbers with the respective game publishers and official tournament software systems.

Card Grading Companies: We share your name and item details with third-party grading companies, such as PSA, TAG, BGS, or CGC, to facilitate the verification and encapsulation of your collectibles. Some of these grading service providers are located outside of Canada, primarily in the United States, meaning your submission data may be subject to cross-border data transfers and foreign jurisdictions.

Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our legal rights. This includes responding to legal processes, enforcing our terms of service, or protecting our rights, property, or safety, as well as the rights, property, or safety of others.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

4. Third-Party Services
We rely on Shopify to operate our online store and manage your digital e-commerce data securely. Shopify collects and processes information on our behalf, including online payment processing, digital order fulfillment, and online user authentication. For in-store physical transactions and debit or credit card processing at our counter, we use payment services provided by Moneris. Both Shopify and Moneris maintain their own independent privacy policies and security frameworks regarding the financial data we are required to share with them to complete your transactions. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services, and we recommend you review their policies before engaging with them. We are also not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party software used for our tournaments, such as Pokémon TOMS, and other TCG tournament organizing software/tools.

5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard physical and digital security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes using secure servers, data encryption technologies, and strict physical access controls for sensitive records like government identification. Our payment infrastructure complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard to ensure your credit and debit interactions remain protected during swipe, insert, or tap payments. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

In accordance with Canadian privacy standards, we do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of thirteen without verified parental or guardian consent. If a player under the age of thirteen wishes to register for an official tournament or create a player profile at Prestige Games, a parent or legal guardian must complete the registration process and provide explicit consent for data collection. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a minor under thirteen without appropriate parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that data.

10. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for the period necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected, including the fulfillment of legal, accounting, or regulatory requirements. Shopify manages the retention of your order data in accordance with its privacy policies. Once your order has been processed, we may retain certain information for record-keeping and to comply with legal obligations; however, we will not retain it longer than is necessary. Should you wish to request the deletion of your personal information, please contact us.
